James Torpey

James has 30+ years of experience in real estate development and investment and he has been involved in structuring business transactions worth over USD $300 million.
James is currently a seed investor in a number of Canadian startups, particularly in biotechnology and blockchain technology.
He also served as Chairman of the Board for SNC-Lavalin Baltics for 4 years. SNC-Lavalin Baltics carried out asset and property management in the Baltic states for a portfolio of 53 office buildings worth €130 million.
With his firm as an investor, he has also held the position of President of Davnet Canada, a broadband telecommunications provider, and Vice President of a financial advisory firm Minpar Investments Ltd., the company that provided advisory services to the government of Slovakia in a JV with Mintz and Partners, a leading accounting and advisory firm in Toronto.
