GIRTS MIHELSONS

Girts Mihelsons is a co-founder of non-profit football school Metta. In 2024 the school celebrated its 18th anniversary and has more than 800 young football players, an adult team in the top league for 13 consecutive seasons, recognition in the Baltic and Scandinavian region, as well as evaluation by the Latvian Football Federation as the #1 football academy for 9 years in a row. In January 2025, the school will open its training center with indoor and outdoor pitches at 1D Sāremas street in Riga in cooperation with Hagberg, and continues to work on new infrastructure development projects. Girts Mihelsons is also the founder of the Association of Accredited Sports Schools, which brings together private sports schools, and represents the interests of Latvian football clubs as a board member of the Union of European Clubs.
